Merry Christmas

Christmas for us started the Sunday before at Jake's Uncle's, unfortunately Jake was unable to make it, due to the fact he had to work the next morning. It was lots of fun, good food and the gift exchange. The hot items this year was the Visa gift card and the Cheesecake Factory gift cards. Great fun. Next was Christmas Eve at my parent's. Tamales, chicken enchilladas, all yummy stuff. (Sorry for the lack of pictures, we keep forgetting to charge the batteries.) Now here is where it gets complicated, Christmas morning we woke up at 6:15 to Sierra saying "Wake up Santa came!" Sierra opened her presents from Santa and Jake and I exchanged gifts. He got me a 5 megapixel camera phone (tah dah pictures!!) p.s. we were not suppose to get each other gifts, but a little bird (Sierra) told me that Jake had gotten something for me. So I had to scramble and get him something. Nothing quite as nice as what he got me. Next year I will be more prepared.

We made the long trek over to the Kerrigan's for waffles and to open more presents.

Yummy waffles :)

Santa gave Sierra a Cinderella dress and accessories, which she had to change into immediately.

Next, it was off to my grandparent's house for more food. It was nice going over there, because I have not spent Christmas with that side of my family since Jake and I got married.

For the evening we went to Jake's Aunt Debbie's house and ate more food and had a gift exchange. It was so much fun and entertaining.

Sierra sitting with the big kids, she was so excited.

Mike picked this in the exchange, but someone had pity on him and relived him of the curling iron.

Then to finish our Christmas extravaganza, we went to Jake's mom's and celebrated with her, Jenna, Jamie & Priscella, Jo & Brandon and Jaeleen & Brian.

Sierra's School Party

Sierra preschool class had their Christmas party Friday before starting a three week long break. The room was packed with family, friends, and high school kids that have been working with the class. The kids started of by putting on a little program for all of us. They danced and sang as they marched around the room in their costumes. Sierra, surprisingly, was struck with a bit of stage fright and wasn't shaking the booty like we all know she can.

After the short program Ms. Nelly asked the kids ti sit down because a speciall visitor was just arriving. It was Santa Claus! The kids were sooo excited! He was a great Santa and the kids loved him. They went up one at a time to sit on his lap. He asked them what they wanted, then told them to place their had on his "wishing staff", close their eyes, and wish real hard for what they just asked for. Then they opened thier eyes, and Santa reached into his big bag of gifts and gave each kid a wrapped present. Then we were all surprised too, when the kids opened exactly what each had wished for. Huh? Sierra said it has to be the "real Santa, not the mall ones!" Ends up that the high school students had been asking them all week what they would ask Santa for. Then they paired up to purchase and wrap it up for Santa to hand out. Remote control tanks, doll houses, barbie dolls, transformers, and Sierra's littlest Pet Shop & a Cheetah Girls Doll.

Then it was time to chow down! The kids all started off with dessert while the parents were talking with each other. Sneaky kids. LOL! Then some kids handed out Christmas cards or goodies they brought for each other. Sierra had a great time, but lets us know she is also excite about her three weeks off!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Momma got a new job

Yup that's right. I started last tuesday and I seem to be getting the hang of it. Last Monday was my last day at Callister and Broberg, kinda bitter sweet. They threw me a farewell lunch, Ernie Jr's (one of my fav mexican restraunts) I miss everyone, but we already have our monthly lunches scheduled. In fact one was yesterday. It was good seeing them even though it has only been a week. Last Monday, I explained to Sierra that it was going to be my last day at Callister and Broberg. Well that lead into what I am going to do at my new job and at that time, not really knowing I told her that I would be working for a Commercial Real Estate Company. When she exclaimed "You're gonna make commercials!" Even though I told her the truth, she thinks I make commercials. I love that girl!

I've been tagged

My sister in law Jessica has tagged me. You must post the 4th picture in your 4th folder on your computer. Here's mine. This the day Sierra was born. 5lbs. 14ozs. and 17 inches. Four years ago sure feels like yesterday. I tag Elizabeth Galindo, Katie Webber, & Stephanie Marks.

Bones

Sierra fell of the Jungle Gym at school and broke her arm. Now she has a pretty pink cast that she makes sure everyone signs. At Jenny's wedding she was running around with a sharpie.

Drive-In

For Sierra's 4th Birthday we decided to have a Drive-In Movie Party. It was a blast. We made cars, took a drive around the yard and we played Beep, Beep, Jeep (Duck, Duck, Goose). We were going to watch the movie outside, but it was too windy and cold. Karen & Les were nice enough to let us turn their Dining Room in to a theater.

Palm Springs

In September we took an impromptu weekend getaway to Palm Springs, it was so much fun just the 3 of us. It was a much needed bonding time. The resort had a two water slides. The big kid one and the little kid one. Sierra loved it as soon as she would come down the slide she get back up and go again. I thought since she could handle the little slide and the 60 year old ladies could handle the big slide, I could do it too.

Nothing is like ricochting down a slide, having water shoved up your nose and getting a wedgie so bad you need a crowbar to remove it. But it was all worth it when I swam back to Sierra and she had a huge smile on her face and gave a big hug. She was so proud of me.

Sea World

Saturday we went to Sea World with Nathan, Catherine, Lilly and Ethan. We had so much fun. Sierra had $20 dollars to spend and she decided on cotton candy, a sword (now for the same price she could have the sword that lights up and makes noises, she said she wanted to make her own noises, smart girl!)and she wanted a necklace, but she fell fast asleep so we picked out a cute whale tail necklace for her. Unfortunately we have discovered that either the necklace or the sword has a demon that causes our sweet little girl to turn into a sassy monster. It's hard to tell which one it is because whenever she turns into a monster she has both items with her. Oh well good times! :)
